News Release-Public Awareness

On November 25th and 26th, 2003, the Tennessee Regulatory Authority, Gas Pipeline Safety Division, conducted an inspection of the Powell-Clinch Utility District gas system.  A complete assessment was given regarding our gas system and recordkeeping procedures.

The following areas were inspected:

  • Pipeline Security Program
  • Monitoring And Testing On Operation And Maintenance Of Cathodical Protection Of The Natural Gas System
  • Line Marker Survey
  • Regulator/Relief Valve Monitoring
  • Monitoring And Testing Odorization Of Natural Gas System
  • Drug Testing Program
  • Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program
  • Written Operating And Maintenance Procedures
  • Knowledge of Employees
